1. TELL US A BIT ABOUT YOUR BACKGROUND.
I’m an actor most known for my roles as The Iron Sheik on The Rocks tv show on NBC called Young Rock and as the guy who is Arnold Schwarzenegger’s younger naked body on Terminator Genisys and Dark Fate.
2. HOW DID YOU GET YOUR START AS INFLUENCER AND HOW YOU DECIDE INDUSTRY FOCUS?
It was really my acting career that gave me the clout to be an influencer. Once I became known as Arnold’s guy, the fitness world kind of opened up for me. As being an ambassador for supplements and food and workout related things.
3. WHERE DO YOU GET THE IDEAS FOR YOUR CONTENT?
My ideas are really just my everyday life. The more natural the better for representing something you use.
4. HOW DO YOU CHOOSE WHICH BRANDS TO WORK WITH?
Im fortunate enough to work with brands that I would be a customer of regardless. It’s what I would still use in my daily life if I wasn’t sponsored.
5. HOW HAS YOUR LIFE CHANGED SINCE BECOMING AN INFLUENCER?
My use of social media changed the most. where before it was just bragging / showoff posts to now the majority of posts I have are geared towards the brands I represent.
6. WHAT’S BEEN YOUR BIGGEST CHALLENGE AS AN INFLUENCER?
To make sure that I’m actually bringing customers and traction to the brands I work for. Accountability is huge to me. I want the brands I represent to love me as much as I love them.
7. HOW DID YOU BUILD THAT LOYALTY WITH FOLLOWERS?
By not faking it. Represent what you use and not something you’re just getting a paycheck for. If I don’t love a brand and use it as a part of my life daily, I don’t represent it. And the followers can recognize that. They aren’t dumb. They know a fake when they see it.
8. HOW DID YOU GROW YOUR CHANNEL?
The bigger my acting career got, the more followers I got. That’s all I’ve done to “grow” my fan base. GET more acting gigs.
9. WHAT IS YOUR ADVICE FOR CREATING AN AUTHENTIC AUDIENCE ON SOCIAL MEDIA? HOW DID YOU GET THE BALL FIRST ROLLING?
With anything in life. DO WHAT YOU LOVE. If you just do what you’re passionate about, people will recognize that passion, and the following you grow when plugging for what you love will be people that relate to you most and people you care to help.
The ball started rolling for me with the gym and good supplements. If I use it and it works, I want others to know it.
10. DO YOU FEEL THAT YOUR ONLINE LIFE REFLECTS WHO YOU ARE AS A PERSON, OR DO YOU FEEL LIKE YOU HAVE AN INTERNET “PERSONA,” TO A DEGREE?
No. You’re online self should be your true self. That’s how you can be proud of everything you do on your Influencer posts.
11. AS AN INFLUENCER, WHAT DO YOU DO TO SWITCH OFF FROM YOUR PHONE?
I read. James Patterson is my favorite author.
12. WHAT IS THE BEST PIECE OF ADVICE THAT YOU WERE EVER GIVEN?
Smile Always.
13. WHAT STRATEGIC ADVICE DO YOU HAVE FOR UP AND COMING INSTAGRAM INFLUENCERS?
Again, do what you have passion for. If it’s not something you care for or agree with or something you just want to get money for… its not worth it. It’s not as enjoyable. Representing something you love and sharing that is a joy like bo other.
14. WHAT DO YOU THINK IS MOST MISUNDERSTOOD ABOUT INFLUENCER MARKETING?
That everyone is fake and just trying to get free stuff…. a good Influencer will represent what they love and have passion for. It makes for a better connection to the brand.
15. DO YOU PREDICT ANY SHIFT IN INFLUENCER MARKETING IN THE COMING FUTURE?
An ambassador who knows they are appreciated by the brand will usually go above and beyond what is required of them. I love my companies because I feel spoiled. And because of that there is never a feeling of obligation of posting, it’d always an enjoyable thing to post for my brands.
I think it’s been at its peak for a while and will probably stay here many years.
What’s one “influencer marketing must” that marketers often overlook?
16. ANYTHING ELSE TO ADD?
DO WHAT YOU LOVE!!! AND HAPPINESS WILL SURROUND YOU. THE RIGHT CONNECTIONS WILL COME TO YOU WHEN YOU FOLLOW YOUR PASSION.
